mar

Sea. (Mar). A vast expanse of salt water, constantly in motion under the influence of tides, wind and ocean currents.

At the surface, waves rise and fall, drawing closer and drifting away, while beneath the water, currents and movements of varying intensities and depths coexist. The sea is a system in which many movements take place simultaneously and interact with one another.

Music also contains different layers that coexist within the same space: sounds that appear and disappear, frequencies that overlap, intensities that shift, and elements perceived either in the foreground or further away. And, like the sea, it too gains depth, drawing us into an immense sonic world.

The sea and music share this sense of vastness: a space that can be explored on the surface and in its depths, and that always seems to hold something more.
